Adagio Animation Art 2000 Адажио (HQ)

            25

“Adagio” (2000) -is a ten minutes long animated miracle created by Russian master-animator Garry Bardin. He used paper folding also known as origami technique in the film because he felt that the idea of “Adagio” and its visual solution required paper as a perfect material. It took nine months to produce “Adagio”. Bardin and his team of animators tried to manually move the paper figures, strange half-men, half-birds creatures, using the trial-and-error method. “Adagio” which is a philosophical parable exploring the conflict between a hero and the crowd is loosely based on a romantic short story written by the famous Russian writer Maxim Gorky about a young man named Danko and his burning heart. In the story, Danko belonged to a tribe of strong men that were forced by their enemies to retreat into the depths of an old dark forest filled with swamps. Danko, young and brave, believed that there was a way out of dark and hostile forest, and he bravely led the people deeper inside. But soon they started to grumble. Fueled by fear and darkness, frustration and anger grew among them. Danko looked at the people and saw only hatred in their faces, and the flame of desire to save them flared up in his heart. “This flame of love for his people became stronger and stronger, and suddenly, overpowering the sound of thunder, Danko exclaimed: ‘What shall I do for my people?’ And he tore apart his chest and tore out his heart and raised it high over his head. It blazed like the sun, even

Top 5 Classic Decorations for Christmas

One of the many things that we look forward to during the holidays is the sight of Christmas decorations that fill up houses, malls, parks. Even the streets get lit up by Christmas lights. A lot of styles and variations have been created to modify and give decorations a new look every Christmas. Some styles give a modern look, showcasing futuristic designs. Some are minimalist, which is mostly based on straight lines and no elaborate ribbons, leaves and frills. Some styles go the traditional way, mostly based on red and white colours, and with the elements of Christmas found in nature. Seeing these Christmas trinkets give us joy and make us feel like children all over again, but to see decorations we know from childhood bring us back in time when we sit and wait for Santa to show up at Christmas Eve. A collection of old Santa Claus letters can also be considered vintage. There are actually a lot of old Christmas ornaments that are making its way to Christmas trees and centre tables of many houses. One of the most common vintage Christmas decors that we can still see nowadays are the angel figurines. These angels are made of porcelain and are hand painted. They can be placed as Christmas tree toppers or on tables as centrepieces.

Older styles of Christmas lights carry bigger bulbs in multicolour. These Christmas lights adorn window panes and doorways. For some who are lucky enough to store their Christmas lights from long ago, even surround their roof with these. However, these vintage Christmas lights do not have rhythmic blinking; they just do not blink at all. But the vintage effect gives a twist to home decorations.

Hand-painted Christmas balls were famous long ago because of its one-of-a-kind designs. Some are made of glass, some out of tin. These kinds of Christmas balls adorned the Christmas trees from yester years and give a certain kind of classiness to trees. They come in different sizes and colours; and are very much sought after by vintage collectors. The only downside of these Christmas balls is that they easily break; proper handling and storage should always be practiced.

Plastic ornaments shaped as cones, bells and teardrops are also famous vintage Christmas ornaments. They twinkle with shine and make interesting pieces for the Christmas tree. Some of them come as dimpled balls. Famously used during the mid 1900′s, these Christmas ornaments may be found in a lot of houses up to these days. They can be used over and over again and are easily stored without the tendency of breakage.

Elves dressed as Santa’s little helpers are also one of the most sought after vintage pieces for Christmas. These figurines may be placed on side tables, centre tables, and by the fireplace. These elves are in various poses and expressions. They are interesting ornaments to add to your Christmas decors. Letters from Santa Claus that you have accumulated through the years can also be placed in some areas to accentuate the vintage decorations around the house. Aside from the mentioned ornaments, there are still a lot of vintage decors that can be found all over the world. Some of them are inspired by the era they were made, from way before the Victorian era to the 80′s and 90′s. The designs vary a lot and the effects that they would bring to your home would be greatly different from each period they were inspired from, thus a very happy and bright Christmas is all they give to us, when we hang each piece of ornament in our homes.

angel christmas globes Angel Christmas Globes
Do you have a special gift you give your child every year?

like a different snow globe, an angel, a porcelian doll, music box, etc.

I want to start something with my daughter but i’m not sure what to choose. She’s four now so i think she will be excited about whatever we do choose and it will grow with her. My mom always bought me a porcelian doll for Christmas and i have a whole collection now.

Any ideas? Do you guys have anything special you give?
xander’s mommy, MY mom bought them for ME…i am passing the tradition down but i don’t want to do those dolls because they are expensive and you can’t open them and play with them or you mess up their hair. That’s why i was thinking a music box or a snow globe that i can set on a shelf along with all her other sentimental things that i have of her.
I understand you guys do not collect, but i also did ask for some helpful suggestions instead of shooting the idea down. thanks.
ty&ri momma’s, that sounds like a good idea! i may do that! its between that and a snow globe.

We do an ornament. My parents did this for me too. We give each child an ornament, which they open on Christmas Eve. The ornament isn’t just any ornament, a lot of thought goes into the ornament and it has significant meaning for whatever they are doing in their life at the time. My oldest is only 6, though, so we haven’t had anything really clever yet. Last year he got a baseball ornament because he played on his first Tball team last year. They’ve gotten a baby’s first Christmas-type ornament their first year.

Better examples would be from my growing up. One year I got Santa talking on a cell phone because I was always on the phone as a teenager. Another year I got a handmade little bear ornament that had a letter on its tummy representing my first initial (so did all my siblings). The year I got married I got an ornament that was a frog sitting on a throne with a crown on that said–sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. Significant too because my married name is King. That same year, my mom made an ornament for my husband that was a football uniform in a locker–the uniform were his school colors and had his number on it (he played college ball).

I love this tradition and it makes for a very fun tree–plus each child has their own set of ornaments to decorate the tree with every year, so putting up the tree really is a family event.
