Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson takes you behind the scenes and teaches you the steps behind the magic. Decorating your Christmas tree is a layering process that has an impact on how your tree looks when finished. step #1. Put up the tree and fluff the branches (if artificial:-) step #2. Light the tree step #3 and 4. add twig type or icy branch garlands step #5. Add the balls and ornaments starting from the inside out. step #6. Add strings of jeweled garland and ribbons/bows. step #7. Add the ice cycles to the tips of branches step #8. Top the tree with something special like an angel, bows and artificial flowers and branches or in my case a large snow flake. @robesondesign Hi Just watched your video, I just wish I watched it before I got our christmas tree. I thought buying an artificial tree was a bad idea until i saw your video. This is the best tree I have ever seen. Ok my question, we bought this fresh christmas tree, the problem is even though it is a full tree there are gaps between the branches and the top does not have enough branches. We decorated the tree with baubles . It looks kind of bare and flat :-( . What do you suggest?

OMG! I love it..I did not expect the finished product. SIMPLY GORG! I’ve already decorated my tree. It’s Tiffany & Co inspired, with Chocolate….I actually thought I’d done something beautiful, until I saw yours…lol..I am about to remove every ball type ornament and stick them on the inside. Hell, I may just start over. I have the most beautiful ribbon, but I’m almost certain it’s on there ALL wrong.. Thanks a million for the ideas..Twigs? Who knew?! Luv luv it!

@tedesignsable @tedesignsable i know this is not a question for me, but it is just a suggestion, you need to cut extra branches of the same kind of tree and use some copper wire to tie it to the center branches of the tree that has the space, and use bows and balls to cover the wire if it is showing, it should be just beautiful. you do not have to take my suggestion though……i was just helping

      Hi @joshuakeller40,
Thanks for asking… I apologize for mot specifically addressing the tree topper in this video. My tree topper changes every year. This year it consists of big beautiful wire edged ribbons, and a 16″ snowflake :-) Watch video 5 and you will be able to see how it looks. In past years I have used Angels, Pine cones, Fruit, Poinsettias, and Peacock feathers. It just depends on the theme of the tree. I want to wish you a Very Merry, Beautiful Christmas!! RR

Guess I should’ve watched this BEFORE I put my tree up this year ;) Actually, we found a bag called the Treekeeper and I didn’t have to take off all the wonderful twigs & “garland” you had put in our tree last year. Even fluffing was much easier. Anyway, I loved my tree again this year! I didn’t manage to decorate the staircase this year (had to decorate the live family tree too…can’t wait for the girls to be old enough to “help”), but your video has inspired me for next year…thanks!

Okay I have been everywhere looking for the “icicle garland”.I did find the icicle branches 6 feet long from KMart Jaclyn Smith regular $24.99 cut down to $6.25 on clearance. So I got 5 boxes for my 7 foot tree.but cannot find anywhere the jewel strands you have. Those are so pretty.Where did you purchase yours at, if you can remember.I subscribed and gave you a thumbs up. :)
